Hill Hold Control & Hill Descent Control

Image
Hill Hold Control / Hill Start Assist Hill hold control (HHC) is driving assistance active safety features on a modern car. The main purpose of the hill hold control is to prevent rollback when starting the car on steep road conditions or stopped on the inclined hilly road, have to resume driving forward. This system helps that beginner drivers on uphill or steep hill road conditions, it is also called hill start to assist. Hill hold control system coordinate with input devices like  wheel speed sensor, brake pedal sensor, clutch switch, gear position sensor, accelerator pedal sensor working on it. Hill Descent Control / Downhill Assist Control  This feature also works on like Hill hold control system but the different way on the opposite direction can be used downhill or steep declined road condition. It helps ensure a safe speed downhill. The vehicle is moving slower below 30 km/hours, maintaining a constant speed for the descent. Without having to the brakes and a...

The driveline of the Automotive

Image
The driveline of the vehicle  The driveline is the drive chain of the Automotive. An assembly of one or two universal joints connected to a propeller shaft, slip joint used to transmit power from the transmission (gearbox) to the drive axle. A chain that transmits power between the shaft joint to the drive wheel.   Propeller Shaft A propeller shaft is provided to cope with and maintain the distance between the gearbox and differential and to adjust with the varied length and angles. Purpose of universal joint The purpose of the universal joint is to transmit power (torque) even at varied angles of the transmission system. Types of universal joint  1) Cross (spider) type universal joint.  2) Slip joint  type universal joint and  3) Constant-velocity (CV) universal joint.  Cross (spider) type universal joint.  In universal joint, the two yokes in which one is connected to the driveshaft and the other one is connected to the living d...

Relation between Torque and Horsepower on car

Image
Relationship between torque & Horsepower on the vehicle Torque  Torque is a rotating force produced by an engine's crankshaft. The more torque an engine produces the greater its ability to perform work. Torque can be viewed as the strength (capability) of the vehicle.  Newton-meters measures of torque How much torque is generated? Torque =Froce x Distance   " Torque- the amount of force" The engine produces maximum torque at the lower to middle end of the engine speed, i.c approx rpm 1500 onward. Torque is the output value of the engine as well as the revolution per minute (rpm). Torque x rpm / 5252 Diesel Engines features more torque at a lower rpm gasoline engine, which results in better capability (strength) for work as hard to get the vehicle moving. Torque provides a simple measurement of the maximum twisting force that the engine can generate when working hard and load. This is why pick up truck high torque engine that generate...

AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY SYSTEM

Image
An automotive safety system is how much your vehicle is safe to prevent an accident or any dangerous situation. The automotive safety system can be classified into two categories: They are - Active safety systems and Passive safety systems. Active Safety System An active safety system gives the driver a warning and continuously works to prevent an accident. This system always stays active while you drive. Most active safety features are electronic and controlled by the electronic control module/unit ECM or (ECU), Like Antilock Braking (ABS) Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction control system (TCS), TPMS, Adaptive Cruise Control ACC, etc. Now luxury cars, more radar, lesser, Camera, GPS, and life-saving sensor devices in the vehicles recognize the danger of a collision. Nowadays in modern cars Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) a crucial role in preventing accidents or any dangerous situation and provide  in...

INDIAN OWN CAR CRASH TEST

Understand the car crash test Let's a simple way to understand about car crash test, the main purpose of vehicles crash test is how much your vehicle deterrence while during the accident. There are test programmes regarding your cars how much safer and vehicle build quality to the safer journey for you and your family and also passengers. Crash testing for vehicles is very important in helping minimise losses of such death, injuries, and property damage from vehicle crashes that happen on the roads. There is multiple kinds of crash tests for vehicles safety undertaken to provide the necessary information and guidance to vehicle owners example of the crash test are frontal impact test, offset test, side-impact test, rollover test and roadside hardware crash test. Car crash test is done by globally crash test and countries wise also tests are conducted especially car manufacturers developed countries their new car crash test or new car assessment programmes. In India recently year 2...
